The nurses tried to help, he would latch, suckle a little and fall asleep. They mentioned that it looked like he was “tongue thrusting”. They finally told me to just hand express. Except I couldn’t figure that out either. The nurses or Trent would do it for me then scrape the colostrum off my Nipple into a little cup and put it in a syringe. This hurt.

Creating A Labor Playlist

I knew going into my birth that I wanted a playlist that would help me keep my mind off the pain of contractions. I put songs on it that I would want to sing along to but that weren’t too upbeat. I also love Disney, so I found acoustic versions of some of my favorite Disney songs and some Disney ride scores. These were some of my favorites to listen to because it really took me to a different place in my mind.
